Going all-in
April 2023.
The decision is taken.
I’ve being working on my business case the last couple of months. And I’m going all-in.
My whole career has been in consulting and project management. I did Deloitte a couple of years as a « business & technology » consultant, then moved to Ink Consulting, a salesforce implementation start-up. Grew to a manager role and had lots of fun.
Then I created a company to freelance as a project manager and took on a mission in the public sector. After a while, the long decision cycles, changing priorities, and the politics of it all took a toll on my engagement. I like moving fast, and I felt like everything was moving so so slow. Despite being surrounded by talented colleagues, I came to realize this wasn’t the right place for me.
I needed a change, at the exact same the time as I was growing more and more confident about my beef jerky side-project. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense :
- I’ve been passionate about entrepreneurship for years;
- I like making beef jerky;
- I’ve discovered a potential product-market fit;
- I’ve got some capital in my company;
- I’m longing for an adventure.
I thought : “let’s do it and see what happens”.
So I quit.
They suggested part-time. I said no, because I wanted to be all-in.
Didn’t realize back then what that meant. All-in means… all the time, energy and money is in. ALL-IN. Like in poker, once I’d pushed all my chips forward, there was no going back.
Don’t regret a thing though.
Sharing more tomorrow.
